Introduction
The second most popular penny game

It's a bit like tennis. You send the red over to the other side of the court and your opponent tries to send it back. Learn to side-flick. Make starshots. Play doubles. The board is so small you can take it anywhere. Get five coins out of your pocket and you're away.

"This geezer down the pub taught me how to play the Red, yeah. Everyone kept looking over our shoulders. It was embarrassing because I was totally crushed."

"Making a starshot? Feels like scoring a goal, doesn't it?"
Animation

All the animations on this site were made for PCs. Apologies. Unfortunately, I have lost all my .fla files so can't copy and adapt them for small screens. I will have to make more from scratch.

Photographs of the Equipment

The great thing about penny red is that it can be played with so many different types of coins.

Note the relative sizes of a Tupenny Red and Penny Red board.

"I always argue with Steve. He says to use pennies because it helps his Penny Black game. But I like the feel of heavier coins on a Tupenny Red board. We'll never agree."
